Enjoy a free day at leisure upon arrival to either re-set your body clock after your long journey to reach the Kingdom and relax in your hotel swimming pool and facilities, unless, why not, heading for a family discovery  of  the vibes at the unique riverfront promenade of this South-east Asian Capital City – also known as “The Pearl of Asia” –  lined up with nice shops and cafés, followed by a brief City Tour with the visit of Wat Phnom, – the City landmark -, a man-made hill your accompanying guide will tell you the Legend of Dame Daun Penh whom the capital City took its name from!

PHNOM PENH DISCOVERY IN A UNIQUE & ECO-FRIENDLY WAY WITH THE CYCLO-POUSSE

DAY # 2

Note: Visitors to the Royal Palace should cover the shoulders and wear appropriate clothing such as long pants or long skirt as to cover the knees.

Leave your hotel on “Cyclo-Pousse” to discover the Capital City. By using this mean of transportation, you are supporting the Cyclo Center NGO that provides English classes, accommodation and teaches the cyclo drivers to a living without cigarettes.

After your breakfast, take a “silent and eco-friendly” ride on a “Cyclo-pousse” and kick-start your day with a visit of the fairy-tale-like Preah Borom Reajea Ve’aing, the Royal Palace and Preah Vihear Preah Kéo Morakot, also known as the Silver Pagoda with its pure silver tiled paved floor and the Sacred Emerald Buddha image.

Then, admire the thousand-year old artifacts from the pre-Angkor and Angkor periods at the National Museum, one of the richest museums in the region in term of ancient sculptures, and relive the Glorious Age of the Khmer Empire through the contemplation of these artifacts. If time permits, continue for a brief visit of “Romeet”, and an art-gallery managed by the Battambang-based NGO Phare Ponleu Selpak located next to the National Museum.

Your visit of the city also includes a ludic and funny immersion into the Khmer culture, with a joyful and entertaining session into the “Life of Rith” to see how to interact with the daily life of the Khmer people!

Fancy a stroll and doing some shopping at another City landmark, Phsar Thmey, also known as the Central Market for a funny way to “shop, shop, shop…, until you drop”? There is in fact a lot to be done in this vibrant city, and your guide will be most happy to make you discover Krong Chatomuk, the former name of Phnom Penh!  Or continue your shopping spree to the brand and newly opened world-class Shopping Mall Aeon and enjoy the latest blockbuster movies at the Cineplex in family?

THE “LONG AND WINDING ROAD” TO SIEM REAP / ANGKOR

DAY # 3

Possibility of an option to take a flight from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap/Angkor (with supplement) – Note: a slight modification of your program in Siem Reap will be needed to be adjusted.

Your road trip starting from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap (about 314 kms and 06hrs30 road journey) will take you through the provincial capital City of Kompong Thom and the site of the pre-Angkorian Kingdom of Tchen-La.

*Note: The road between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap being currently under renovation, the road journey might take around 6hrs to 6hrs30, hence our suggestion for the possible option to fly to the Temple City (about 45 minute flying time).

On the way, enjoy a short stop at the picturesque crossroad town of Skun to discover a local culinary “delicatessen” for those adventurous enough to venture into new tastes: the “Deep-fried Spiders”!

After a brief stop at Kompong Thom town, visit Sambor Prey Kuk Temples nestled in the forest, then, carry onward to Siem Reap with another short visit of the famous Naga Bridge, a testimony to the ingenuity of the Ancient Angkorian Bridge builders, on this “Voie Royale” built by the Great Khmer Kings, linking Angkor to Wat Phu in Southern Laos and to the Champa Kingdom in present Central Viet Nam!

Upon arrival and checking-in at your Hotel, enjoy  free time at leisure to discover  at your very own pace the Temple City and its many eatery places and venues!

THE MAJESTIC ANGKOR TEMPLES AND FUN TIME AHEAD WITH THE TREASURE HUNT IN FAMILY!

DAY # 4

Your day will start with an exploration of Angkor Thom and the famous 172-Avalokiteshvara Multiple-Faced Bayon at its very center. The vast architectural ensemble is considered to be the epicenter of the then-Khmer Empire that ruled most parts of South-east Asia in its heyday!

Note:  During your visit of the Angkor Temples, visitors should wear shirts or blouses covering your shoulders and arms and long skirts or trousers covering your legs (no miniskirts or shorts above the knee). Children under 12 year-old are not allowed to climb up to the main Bakan Tower during the visit, and the Central Tower will be closed during the Khmer Buddhist Bay, 4 days a month according to the Lunar calendar.

Then, Fun time ahead! Take your family for a ludic way to discover Angkor Thom – the Great City – with a Treasure Hunt specially designed for your family, starting from Baphuon Temple through PhimeanAkas, the Royal Pools, then to the Elephant Terrace and all the way up to the Leper King Terrace. Definitely a new, fun and educative way to learn about the Great Khmer Builder Kings: going from path to path, from quiz to quiz, from temple to temple, from discovery to discovery to the final “search and find” of the “hidden Treasure Box”. Good luck to the “Best Team” and winners, and the “hidden treasures” will reward your very efforts to make this fun family experience, a day to remember!

Your exploration continues in the afternoon until sunset with the visit of the famous Angkor Wat which five towers with a rosé-colored light – according to the luminosity of the day and season – still adorn the Cambodian flags of all the various successive Cambodian régimes.

BICYCLE TRIP AND DRIVE IN A « BUFFALO CART » TO A TEMPLE

DAY # 5

Note: During your visit to the Temples, visitors should wear shirts or blouses covering your shoulders and arms and long skirts or trousers covering your knees (no miniskirts or shorts above the knee). It might also be hot, so drink plenty of water during your bicycling tour to avoid dehydration.

Early in the morning, amidst the sunrays of this new day, take your family for a Bicycle Trip, to mingle with the Khmer people in their daily life occupation and why not try your hand at making mats? Complete your morning with a visit to a local market and have lunch cooked by your host in a traditional wooden house.

After lunch, enjoy a ride like in the ancient time with the family in a Buffalo Cart from the traditional Khmer house and village to the Ta Prohm Temple gate. Like an Indiana Jones “in the making”,  be amazed by the “temple in the jungle!

After your full day discovery, enjoy the sunset over the tranquil setting of Srah Srang Royal Basin?

EXPERIENCE THE LIFE OF A CIRCUS ARTIST AT PHARE, THE CAMBODIAN CIRCUS WORKSHOP AND THEN “SEE THE JUNGLE THROUGH THE EYES OF A GIBBON”!

DAY # 6

In the morning, go with your family to a Circus workshop to experience the life and rehearsal with the young and talented artists from Phare, the Cambodian Circus! A definite funny and entertaining way to warm up your body and do some workouts with your suppleness for the coming afternoon activity!

Then after lunch, take your family to see the jungle like never before! “Zipline and fly” over the jungle from tree to tree at a 45 meter high and over a 300 meter zipline. An exhilarating and fun way to “see the jungle through the eyes of a gibbon” like out of  a Khmer fairy tale! Then listen to your guide telling the tale as to why the gibbon “cries its tears out  with a long lament as soon as the sun sets on the horizon and the sky is becoming red…

Back to the hotel, enjoy a well-deserved rest and swim at the hotel pool to recover from your full activity and fun family day!

BE NEUTRAL CARBON

In order to fight against climate change and to protect the environment, All Dreams Cambodia is committed to reducing carbon emissions.

In collaboration with EcoSol, an agency specializing in Circular Economy and Low Carbon Approach, we have set up a very sophisticated calculation tool, making it possible to measure the number of kg of CO2 inherent in the activity of the agency but also in each of our tourism programs, and the amount offsetting the carbon footprint at the current cost of carbon emitted.

To be carbon neutral, we have decided to support and donate these compensatory funds to an “Agrisud” project in Cambodia:

LinkStructuring and management of the “drain sludge” sector and production of organic fertilizers

Join us in reducing the carbon impact in Cambodia!

Learn about the carbon footprint of your clients’ program.

If you wish to support us in our more responsible and sustainable tourism approach, please inform us upon confirmation and we will add the compensatory amount to your invoice.

Your clients will receive upon arrival an additional information sheet.

We will take them to visit the Agrisud sites, this of course depending on their program and according to their wishes.

A year-end report will be sent to all of our generous contributors.
