Day 1: Siem Reap – Hanchey – Chhlong
Breakfast by your own account.
Morning, departure from Siem Reap to Chhlong, Kratie province (298 Km about 5h-6h by road) via Kampong Thom. A brief stop at the Old Nagas Bridge in Kampong Kdei village and continue the road.
On the way, stop at Hanchey Bamboo Resort. This place takes pride in offering the best view of the river, sky and trees – and yes, nature-friendly cottages that truly resemble the Cambodian identity.

After lunch, continue your journey to Chhlong. Arrive at Chhlong and transfer directly to the hotel for check in.
Free at leisure for discover local life and village of Chhlong: is a somnolent riverside town 31km south of Kratie. The main attraction is the old governor’s residence, a gorgeous, yellow-and-white French colonial mansion near the river. Once a top-end boutique hotel, it is now shuttered up and falling into disrepair. Architecture buffs might also drop in at the House of a Hundred Pillars (1884), about 500m north of Le Relais. According to the house’s owner, the Khmer Rouge removed many of the pillars – so today only 56 remain. A few more decrepit French colonial buildings line the river.

Overnight in Chhlong.
Day 2: Chhlong – visit
Breakfast at the hotel.
The morning, departure from Chhlong to Kraite (38 Km about 45 min by road). Then take the local ferry to Koh Trong Island. Koh Trong is an island situated in the middle of the Mekong River directly opposite Kratie Town. A 9km loop road around the island’s perimeter provides opportunities for visitors to leisurely by bicycle ride through traditional Khmer villages, fruits orchards and rice fields while observing the daily rituals and routines of traditional village life.
Heading north to the top of the island, you will turn left and head inland. Not far along this path you will come across a pagoda, Wat Ty Pram Kbal.
Lunch at homestay at Koh Trong Island.
After lunch, take the local ferry to kratie then transfer to Prek Kampi for the boat cruise on the Mekong River where you will get on a local boat to catch glimpses of the rare Mekong River Dolphins, also known as the “Irrawaddy Dolphins”, a rare species only found in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia… And if you are very lucky, you may spot a dolphin tail.
Return back to Chhlong.

Day 3: Chhlong – Kampong Cham – Phnom Penh
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure from Chhlong to Phnom Penh via Kampong Cham (222 Km about 4h-5h by raod). Before arrival in Kampong Cham, stop to visit Rubber Plantations of Chub, financed in the beginning by the French tire maker Michelin.
Lunch at local restaurant on the way.
Then visit Pagoda Norkor Bachey. There is a small temple. It is located 2.2 kilometers from Kampong Cham provincial town along National Road 7, about 122 kilometers northeast of Phnom Penh. The temple was built in the middle of the 11th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II and King Ouphey dedecating to Brahmanism. The temple is about 200 meters inside the gate. The site is accessible to almost all types of vehicles. The famous place of Nokor Bachey Temple, Kampong Cham is a wonderful place to visit in the country of Cambodia.
On the way, enjoy a short stop at the picturesque crossroad town of Skun to discover a local culinary “delicatessen” for those adventurous enough to venture into new tastes: the “Deep-fried Spiders”!
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel.
